I have a simple network between two computers using D-link 10/100 cards in
each and a cable connection. This was working fine until I have to
reinstall Win2000 on one of the computers. Since then I haven't been able
to get the computers to see each other over the network. I don't know much
about networking yet, but I only changed the one computer when I reinstalled
Win2000...and I get the same problem from either end, the other computer is
not showing up in "Computers near me" nor when I search for it from My
Network Places.
Is there some basic software switch that I may have not set correctly? Both
cards seem to be working(checked Device Manager), the cable hasn't been
touched. Would someone suggest some ways to troubleshoot this?
Thanks,
John
