i need to get my pics to a disc! ahhh!

I have no ideas about computers. Even my granny has a better control over it
than me. I apologize in advance because my problem is probably very stupid.
And here is my issue: I'm trying to copy my pictures from "My Pictures" to a
CD-ROM, but the computer gives me this error that says "D:/ is not
accessible. Incorrect Function." But I am inserting a right disc, and I
followed the instructions on the Help menu about copying things to a CD.
What's wrong with me?

What type of CD are you putting in?
What application are you using to burn to CD? Windows XP itself?
What type of burner do you have (hardware)?

Exactly how are you trying to do this? If you're just trying to
copy files from one drive to another, as if the CD drive were a
giant floppy, you can't do it that way unless you are running
special software (packet-writing software).
 
I found the answer to my question. Apparently someone else had the same
problem last November. Thank you very much for your help.

You can't burn to a CD-ROM (read only)
