Hi all,

I need to choose between symantec endpoint security and etrust
antivirus packages.
My etrust license is about to expire so I thought I'd have a look at
these two packages to see which would be better.
Has anyone used either or both of these and can give me an opinion on
each package?
Symantec is a whole lot more expensive than CA, but if the features
outweigh the price I'll be happy to buy it ..
Just need to know if it is THAT much better..
I know it is more resource hungry, but with new computers I don't
believe it'd take that much from them..

Choose neither.
Instead I suggest looking at Kaspersky and Eset NOD32.

Naturally each company will tell you that their product is best .. Is
there an unbiased report on both that I could read?
I'm looking around and nobody is able to tell me whether one is better
than the other, least it be in a biased report.
I have approximately 200 computers to install the software in and
needs to be controlled and re-distributed to branches around the
country.
Can either Kaspersky or Eset do this?
e-trust is reasonably easy and quick to use and does most things on
its own.. But it seems a little flimsy in comparison to symantec (at
least when I used it a couple of years ago)..

Both have Enterprise capabilities. Both are superior to CA and Symantec albeit I don't know
how "great" their Enterprise management tools are. Personally I would choose an anti virus
software that has a poorer enterprise central management with a high malware detection rate
over softwasre that has excellent enterprise central management but a poorer detection rate.

To echo others, just don't.
eTrust will probably bite you worst first, but they both suck.
Really.

I've seen the CA management console and it was Ok but nothing special,
as I recall.
The Kaspersky one looks good, and the feature set for the actual product
is very good.
