I really like ava find and I have been using the freeware version for
quite some time now. What annoys me though is that i can't use the
right click explorer menu after the trial period as it tells me to
register every time i do that. I looked at registration but it's quite
pricey at $39 or $19 per year.
Same for "folder cache" which is somewhat pricey too. (different app,
this one keeps a list of your most recently used folders in the
open/save dialog)
Are there any freeware alternatives for these applications? there must
be considering the simplicity of the functions they do.
I just need an application that'd instantly find what i'm looking for,
keep an eye on my drives and update its index automatically. I looked
at wilbur but it's mainly for textually based files (rather than media
or apps too), and it takes 20mins to update its index on my 160gb,
that'll probably be 40mins even once i install the other HD sometime
tomorrow. Agent ransak is not really suitable as it search the whole
drive every time i want to find an item.
thanks
