I am bewildered as to why my computer temps have increased so much.
I am hoping someone here would be able to either explain or tell me
how to fix this issue.
I have provided links below so you can see the JUMP in temps since
February 2006.

In Feb 2006, Just after applying arctic silver:

June 2006, Arctic silver still being used
but look at the temp increases?
http://img104.imageshack.us/img104/5791/junetemp8lg.png

The ambient temp in the room has, at most, increased by 3 or 4C
Currently my ambient temp is 25.5C
Current ambient temp in other rooms 23.8C
Running Average CPU Temp 40C

Help?

Well within spec on cpu temp, forget about it. Your case is staying
hotter because of the room temp, the cpu is staying hotter because of
the case temp. Only temp I really fret over is hd, if that croaks and
I've just come up with my masterwork and haven't had time to back it
up...

|Now the compared images are from the SAME VERSION.
|
|Feb, just after using arctic silver

|Now in june, still using arctic silver

|
|Any clues?
|Seriously, I must be retarded because my system is the same as the day
|I built it [except for the temps going up]
|
|thanks.

The temps are fine. Blow the machine out with compressed air, if you
must, but you have no problem.

Double check your heatsink, it may be loose.

Double check your heatsink, it may be loose.

Especially if the machine was recently moved or bumped in some way. But
this is the third in this series of posts...pedro here didn't even
bother checking back on the last post he made about the exact same thing.

I'm going to die rather sooner than I'd like. I tried to protect my
neighbours from crime, and became the victim of it. Complications in
hospital following this resulted in a serious illness. I now need a bone
marrow transplant. Many people around the world are waiting for a marrow
transplant, too. Please volunteer to be a marrow donor:

Yes. Firstly, you're paranoid. Secondly, ITS ****ING SUMMER.

Well, Someone said I posted screenshots from two different versions of
speedfan, so I posted two which were from the same version.

Yes, I agree with the paranoid.

However, idle use to be 35C and Fully Loaded used to b 48C
Now it's idle @ 40C and full load @ 56-56C

I am just asking for advice from you all.

And it is summer. The ambient temperature is higher, therefore it runs
hotter.

Heatsinks and fans don't cool to X degrees, they cool to Y degrees
below ambient air temperature.

Pedro, a lot of possibilities have been posted along with
solutions/tests. You need to start working through them instead of just
repeating your posts hoping for an easier solution/test.
