I want to remove vista! Badly im so frusterated. Could someone help me please.

Much appriciated,Alex

The only way to remove Vista is to format the partition and/or drive and
install a different OS. What was your previous OS? Do you have the install
disks?

Hi Alex,

It's not that difficult. Boot the system with an XP or Linux CD (or other OS
media of choice) and run setup. Delete the existing system partition and
create a new one from the free space, format and proceed with the
installation. Be aware that this process removes all data currently on that
volume/partition, so backup anything you want to keep first.

Before you ask, no, there is no downgrading or uninstalling back to XP or
other OS. Removal requires the above steps (the deletion and recreation of
the system volume is important due to subtle changes in NTFS used by Vista
that cause problems if you try to install XP to it).

No one can help with no information.
How are you set up. How did you install Vista. Do you have a backup of XP
before you updated it or overwrote the partition. If you have Vista on your
only partition and you want to go back to XP, use the backup or install CD
and delete the Vista partition when asked where to install and create a new
primary partition and format it (preferably NTFS) and then complete the XP
install. Anything more will require real specifics as to what you did and
what you have now.

<grin>

I mentioned these "subtle" changes in the Vista partitioning and the NTFS
file system 4-5 months ago and was soundly beaten down by almost everyone.

Yet the fact remains - Partition Magic 8.01 can NOT work with partitions
created by Vista.

If there were no changes, PM would work just fine.

Those changes are also the reason why the third party defraggers took a
while to get out a Vista version. The last adjustment to NTFS was between
RC2 and rtm.

if you did an upgrade from a previous OS, it should be listed in Add/Remove, just uninstall it. and PRAY for good results.
otherwise, format the hard drive and re-install the OS of choice.
