i need help with winmgntexe.

hi all im trying to help a friend out he has windows 2000 when he starts his pc it says this

winmgntexe. has generated errors and will be cloesed by windows
you will need to restart windows

error log is being created

how do i help him with this issue

This sounds like it could be a Trojan virus - boot your friends PC up in safe mode and run these 2 applications:

Avira Anti-Virus : http://www.free-av.com/
SuperAntiSpyware: http://www.superantispyware.com/

Always be sure to have a good anti-virus application running
