I need help with my high ping

I have a satellite modem is there any way to make it work
faster by doing something to the ping if so could
someone help me find where i can change my high ping....
I ask this because i try to play a game but the game
works slower with the satellite modem then with a 56k
connection please help...

You ping is simply the time it takes for a IP Packet to go from your
computer to another and back.

With a Satellite connection, This is a trip of around thirty miles up,
thirt miles down, then along numerous servers to the it's destintion,
then back again. You won't get good ping times with a Staellite
connection You're only solution is a fater connection like Cable/DSL.

Satellite just plain sucks for gaming.
