I need help with buttons popping up!!!

My computer started to act very strange today. Every time
I am in IE (running 6), various columns pop up along the
left side (vertically) of my computer with various
titles. They are "Favorites", "Open", "Search",
and "history". These are driving me nuts since they not
only are a nuisance but interfere with my browsing. Is
there any way I can stop this from happening? Thank you.

Is it possible there is a CTRL key stuck on your keyboard?
IE keyboard shortcuts:
Open the Search bar: CTRL+E
Open the Favorites bar: CTRL+I
Open the History bar: CTRL+H
