my auto text and autocorrect stuff so i can transfer it
to my new computer?

Check out the following article.

HOW TO: Move Word AutoCorrect Entries Between Computers in Word
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=269006

Autotext entries are kept in the normal.dot so move that to the new
computer.

When you make an AutoText entry, check the box at the bottom of th
dialogue box to make sure it is saving it in Normal.dot. Otherwise
you are saving it only to that particular document

I use account #'s for name and address on 1500 people under auto text and somehow they are now GONE! Do I need to retype the names and addresses and assign account #'s to them again? I've purchased 2 identical computers with identical software. One has 13 items under auto correct, i.e. Atttion line; body text etc. The other has only 8 items, i.e. there is not a body text; reference line; signature; signature company; or HEADING 1 - note, I typed 2 names and addresses and assigned them each an account # and now I have a heading 1, which includes those two account #'s. However, two days ago I had 1500 account #'s! Are they gone for ever?

Appreciate your help

I had 1500 account #'s assigned to names and address under auto text and now there gone! I purchased two identical computers with identical software. Now today one has 13 items to choosse from, i.e. atttention line; body text; etc., and the one with these account #'s has only 8. Missing are body text; reference line; signature; signature company; and HEADING 1. I retyped two names and addresses; assigned account #'s to each; and now I have a HEADING 1, but still missing 4 items. Do I need to retype all names and address again and assign account #'s? I pray not!

Appreciate your timely reply

The autotext entries are saved in templates, by default the normal.dot
template. Hopefully you have retained a copy or backup of the normal.dot
template you were using at the time you had the full list. You could then
substitute this normal.dot for the one currently in use or use the organiser
to copy the entries from old to new.

Personally I would use Outlook for storing this type of information and use
the technique described at http://www.gmayor.com/Macrobutton.htm in my
document templates to insert the data required.
