I need help, FP 2002

Hello All,

Hope someone can help me with this one. I am having some very anoying
issues with FP. I have used it successfully for the last ... how ever many
years but now something is going on. I assume my best option may be a
reinstall but am looking for some general advice.

I am editing my web on my laptop at times.... transfering edited files from
the desktop to laptop and visa versa... I have started to use common
borders... on the bottom.

Now for the last week I have been running into errors with saving a page
which I have added information to only to then reopen the page later and find
that there is nothing on the page at all..... somehow when saving the page is
erasing all content other than my shared border.... and the border shows up
on all pages twice... but works ok when published.... If I remove the one
border which is like a "ghost" appearing in the main page then it erases all
info on the page as well....

Any suggestions
 
Shared borders and Include Pages are design time tools w/ the content (inside the <BODY> tags) of the Shared Border or Include page
"embedded" or included as html in your pages when you save any of the file(s) using them (or save the borders / include pages
themselves)

FP converts your page(s) to a series of tables to include the Shared borders, (which are really just a special case of Include
pages) But FP can not build those tables if either your shared border page content or main page content has illegal html or broken
tag pairs
- usually due to missing </body></html> tags, or unmatched table / cell tags (unclosed table / cell tags), or some other unclosed
html block element

If you can see them using File Preview in Browser they will publish in as part of your pages. If you can't see them using File
Preview in Browser, it's because FP can not build the included content tables, so you need to
validate and correct your broken html.

Multiple copies of Includes or shared borders are caused by some bugs in FP & in the FP2002 SE related to shared borders & include
pages so make sure you (and your host) see & apply all appropriate patches from:

Thanks for the post... I will have a look at the HTML to see if there are
any errors showing up.
