This is the third time I have posted regarding this
problem.
Here is what I need fixed on my PC:
I'm running IE6 SP1 on Win98SE. I have a bug which causes
I was given the following course of action:
1. Access the following menu functions --
Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions
2. Download and install LSPFIX to safeguard my connection.
3. Finally, download, install, check for updates, and run
the following programs: CWShredder, SpyBot Search &
Destroy, AdAware and HiJackThis.
Unfortunately, this was a generic solution that I had seen
posted here several times in the last few days. And it
did not work for me because SpyBot failed to run.
Therefore, I need a solution that works, pronto! I know
it's out there.
I would prefer if you replied via e-mail.
Thank you.
problem.
Here is what I need fixed on my PC:
I'm running IE6 SP1 on Win98SE. I have a bug which causes
pop-ups and other new windows to not display, unless
I "stop" the page load by pressing <ESC> and then refresh
it with <F5> (I had to do that so I could make out this
(entry).
Meanwhile, the Find On Page (<CTRL-F>) function is not
working, either. Any attempt to use it results in a
warning dialogue box that says "Error 35: Incompatible
version of the RPC stub." The browser then crashes upon
acknowledgement of the error.
A few nights ago, I woke up to the discovery that an
update to my antivirus (McAfee) got stalled in mid-
installation due to a script error, and I was forced to
reboot my computer because nothing worked at all! And
this evening, I found the same problem; though I have
managed to continue using my PC, I still the McAfee Update
installation as being "in progress."
At first, I had the feeling the two may be tied together,
but I first noticed this "New Window" problem BEFORE the
McAfee Update problem.
I have run Ad-Aware and I did find an alteration of the
registry key, but I still have not been able to fix this.
HELP!
