I have a contact address database in msacccess. Once I search in form I can
search one record at a time. In case there is two guys in equal first name I
will be confused or I can't get output immediately for my convenience unless
not searching from a table.

In this case shall I search from table or form? I prefer searching from
form. But as we all know what we have to depend we have to depend. Once I
search from form I prefer the cursor have to come to the record with special
color. Then I can get more satisfaction with my database. Please comment.

Bob,
Thanks. Usually I input the name without splitting 1st name 2nd name so on.
I undestand from your instruction that in case I split in the sense you told
me will be much better. Great idea! So I will do that. Please tell me what
is the advantage of splitting in the way you told.

One advantage of Bob's approach is that you have a more "granular" search...
and you can choose which portion of the name is the most important for your
search. Also, if you wish to change that order, it is possible, which it is
not if you have entered the full name rather than each name within the name.

In business in the US, it is most often useful to search in the order Bob
described. That may not be the case for you.
