I need a rule to MOVE messages instead of COPYING them; can anybody help?

Hi all,

I get a lot of mail, and keep them organized by name of the contactperson.
For example: mail I either send to or receive from Pete, has to be moved to
the Outlook-folder "Pete", after the mail has been read by me (in case of a
receipt from a message from Pete) or after it has been sent (in case of mail
I sent to Pete). Outlook rules do not allow for this; you can only copy
messages (which means you have duplicate messages in Outlook). Maybe a macro
could do the trick, but you need to write macro's and I am not a technical
guy:-(. Would anybody know a solution, or would anybody be so kind to write
an example for me in which I can do a search and replace to create my own
version? The current situation only guarantees I'm a candidate for RSI
(manually moving messages to subfolders):-(.

Any help on this matter would be highly appreciated:-).

Thank you and enjoy your day,

Regards,

Peter

What version of Outlook and do you really need to spam all of these groups?

Thank you for "accusing" me of spamming. Care to read the definition of what
spam is? Outlook XP.

Peter

Not MVP, simply Prof.dr. MBA, nothing else.

Peter, here's what I do.

In RULES, MOVE all msgs to an appropriate individual folder named PETE,
FRED, MILLIE, etc.
That way, you can see everything that is unread from that person and decide
who's most important.

With each rule, include an 'or' condition that if the msg is 'to' a
particular person, it is MOVED to the PETE, FRED, MILLIE, etc., folder.

The msgs you send out (or reply to), they'll accumulate in the SENT folder.
Once a week you run the filters on the SENT folder, which places all the
msgs in the appropriate PETE, FRED, MILLIE, etc. folder.

Hi Henry,

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, I don't understand how this leads to
READ messages being moved, while UNREAD messages remaining in my inbox. Can
you explain?

Kind regards,

Peter

Hi All,

Thanx to a user who referred me to a site which links to several solutions
(http://www.slipstick.com/addins/auto.htm) I managed to find one. Now I'm
risking being accussed again for spam again (:-)), since I've found several
people where looking for the same solution like I was and I want to share my
knowledge so other people might benefit from it.
http://www.madsolutions.com/ has Message Executive 6.0, which does exactly
what I want, in every detail.

I'm happy:-).

Regards,

Peter
