help please i am running windows xp home and recently move my slave hard drive which was designated (f:) now windows sees it as (E:) when i try to open any programs that are on it windows cant find it, i have changed some of the paths on these programs to point to e but these programs are now alsways asking for the correct cd rom which is in the drive and will not start
As far as i am aware this is to do with 'registry pointing' but i do not know enough to start messing around in there.
Any ideas as im missing my gaming and cant use my pc for any work!!

The programs will have entries in registry pointing to the old drive. Reinstalling the programs is the best way to go here..

You could change the paths in registry but that would be a lot of work..

I use XP Pro and have no experience on Home. In Pro, you can change a
drive letter assignment of a non-system drive under Control
Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management/Storage/Disk
Management. Right click on the drive and select change drive letter
and path.
