Your "company" hasn't lost their licenses... Unless you mean the key you
used no longer allows updates?

When I install Windows XP in other machine with the VLK, the Window XP can
not be activated. Do you mean, even I do not activate the Windows XP, I still
can update my system?

You don't have a VLK if:
- you can only install it on a set number of machines before it physically
won't work (VLK's are enforced in the license, not in the Windows code)
- you have to activate.

From the sound of it, you are using MSDN, not VLK. Very different animals.

A volume license doesn't have to be "Activated" - if you have ten licenses,
and they need to be activated, it sounds like those are MSDN subscription
licenses, which for all practical purposes, I believe are to be used for
testing/development machines, not day-to-day normal use machines.

I am sorry I made a mistake. The leceses certainly used for
testing/development. But I still undstand how the problem happend. I
activated it on only one machine, and I can not activate it any more. But I
have ten licenses.
