Steve

I installed AntiSpyware yesterday and it ran without
problems. But today on startup I noticed that the fonts
folder was emptied. Most all windows are displayed
using "Martlett" as the font including emails and
software; I can't even change anything in the Display
Properties window because everything is written in
Marlett. Any ideas what happened and what i can do now?
Thanks.

Reboot, press F-8 and select Safe Mode and see what happens. Sounds like a
virus or the registry is the problem - let's check the registry. Check the
font folder in safe mode and see what's in there. If you are still having
the missing font issue, try to run system restore and back up a day or two
before they disaapeared. If you can't get to system restore because the
only font left is illegible follow this process below:

Start -> Run and type 'cmd'
Navigate to and run %SystemRoot%\System32\restore\rstrui.exe (Notes:
%SystemRoot% could be c:\windows or some other drive, hopefully you know
where Windows is installed on your machine :) )

You have 3 screens to navigate through. I've listed the button positions
because you can't read the buttons when your fonts are messed up.

1. Select Restore my computer to an earlier time and click next (left
button)
2. Choose a recent date that you have a restore point created. Go back as
recent as you can before you think the corruption started and click next.
(middle button)
3. Click Next again to start the restore. (middle button)

Thanks for the response... I've checked the font folder in
Safe Mode and it shows as an empty folder. I also
neglected to mention that my OS is MS 2000 and I dont have
the luxury of the restore feature. I also do not have a
current backup (my bad). If you or anyone else might have
another suggestion, I'd appreciated it. Thanks again.

If you know how to use regedit, go in and see what you find at this
location:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts]

What I usually do for font issues is grab the contents of that folder from
another like machine.

Easily done in a networked environment with a number of machines--perhaps
harder for you, I'm afraid.
