How do I get rid of this thing? I've got browser toolbars
I can't get rif of and it keeps sending me to a
globalwebsearch site that is a nightmare. I've got Win2000
& removed/"repaired" IE without affect.

I found a reference to that site being called in
C:\winnt\system32\gws.dll. Can I just replace that dll?
If so, where can I get a good one?

Is there an IT angel out there?

Ramesh,
Rule No.# 1 of Spyware is _never_ use an uninstaller from the same site, application,
-- fill in the blanks -- that served it up in the first place. Using uninstallers such as
these
is something akin to lowering all you Browser security setting to minimal and deliberately
searching/ - going to - *known* Spyware serving sites, etc.

Rule No.# 2 is - see rule No.#1.

Example, when the C2Media/Lop parasite became known, the site offered and uninstaller,
did it work - yes, it installed more Spyware than existed already.

Unless you can quantify that this uninstaller should be used in lieu of a know-proven
Spyware
scanner, I would politely ask you not to prescribe it here.

Siljaline,

This uninstaller is not provided by iLookup, but coded by me.

Well done :-)

Yes but it has legal implications written all over it.
If you make some sort of uninstaller that "repairs"
something that Company XYZ does - that points
the finger directly at them and that spells immediate
litigation scenarios.

I'm sorry Ramesh, I cannot comment further on this.
Good luck...

What you are doing, in the context of how I understand it,
is beyond the scope of why I participate here.
