I locked myself out of my XP Pro (OS) laptop

Looking for help with a self induced problem because I went off "half
cocked' on an endeavor that has now lost my access to my on computer.

I was attempting to have my laptop (XP Pro OS) log into my home network. I
changed the settings from use Domain, to use Workgroup. I gave the home
network name, under Workgroup name on the laptop, and restarted the
computer. Now, at Windows Log On screen, I have username and password entry
options only. The username is the same as always, for the previous setting,
but the password does not work. I have assigned no passwords for the home
network, so I did not think I would need one. So far, No password of any
kind or username works.

Is there anyway to get around this?

Is the built in Administrator account password protected?
If not, log in as "Administrator" (without quotes) and leave the password
blank.
If it too is password protected, you will need to provide that password.
If you can get in as Administrator, then you will be able to go to Control
Panel -
User Accounts and change your own account's password.
