Hello Itsme.

Indeed it`s good to have you back.
I don`t want to pry but is this a recurring illness I get the impression it is, if so please do keep well.Or you can tell me to mind my own business.

A little boy who was six years old when he realised something was wrong, as he had started school and could not understand the teacher when the teacher was speaking, so after a while he told his parents of the problem, his mother went to the school to explain to the head master what was happening, the head master had the school nurse to explore the problem and she referred the boy to a doctor, who in turn referred him to an E.N.T. specialist, confirmation was then past to the mother that the boy was deaf in one ear and partially deaf in the other.

After seventeen operations [Mastoid-ectomy] over a period of fifty-four years that person is still deaf in one ear and has 20% hearing in the other, now if it were not through the surgeons involved that little boy would not be here today [cochlear meningitis] was the cause and the nurse involved first saw the problem, the first operation was performed within 24 hours of seeing that nurse and I will always be grateful to all those involved!

Yes that boy was I!

Oh add another 3 lots of surgery to the above..and a few more years [Ears]:D

... and we still can't stop him writing in big bold letters. :p

Glad your back itsme . Was just about to send out search parties. Thought you had fallen in love and taken to the open road with your new paramour The Galaxy.

:D

Yay! Welcome back Itsme - I hope you are feeling lots better. Yikes, it sounds like you had a pretty traumatic time of it when you were growing up, but thank goodness for that nurse spotting the problem. Now come and sit down - I've been keeping this chair warm for you :D :thumb:

Just like to say "'ear,'ear" to all the above comments. :D

Nice to know that you are getting back to normal. :thumb:

Sorry to hear you werent feeling too good. I am actually working in a pharma company in a parenteral suite and we are working on a 13 valent vaccine for young kids who contract all forms of meningitis and also another drug which i cant name at this point but its target is kids aswell...we have a 7valent drug called prevnar that has been picked for the irish national innoculations(infants) drug of choice....its interesting enough project but now i look with sharper eyes...hope somehow your condition can be improved and that at least you are comfortable.....my troubles pale in contrast.
Nevertheless, welcome back to PCR
Zzzzz
