I have Office 2003. I have received an e-mail attachment with docx ending.
I do not know what to do or how to open it.

The person who sent you the email should really have saved the document in
Word 97-2003 format, which Word 2007 has the ability to do.

If you do not want to ask them to resend the document, you can download a
compatibility pack that will allow you to open it by following the
instructions at the following website:

I think you would double click on the paper clip icon usually around the left
upper area of the text . Lilly

It is never a good idea to open attachments directly from e-mail messages.
Never a week goes by without someone complaining they have lost hours of
work as a consequence. In any case unless you have an application that will
open docx files (which Word 2003 does not have out of the box) nothing
useful is going to happen.
