There is a copy of this question in the General Outlook section. I put it
there before realizing there was a Contacts section and that it is likely
more appropriate here. My apologies.
I thought maybe Outlook 97 (i.e. Office 97) had a problem but I've upgraded
to Outlook 2003 (i.e. Office 2003) and this very annoying problem still
persists.
I cannot enter/edit phone numbers for my contacts. When I try, I get the
"Location Information" window wanting my country/region, area code, type of
dialing, etc. I don't understand why this is needed since I don't use a
phone line connection but that's a minor issue. The big problem is I have no
countries to choose from in the pull down menu thus I can't enter anything.
I would think I'd have the same selections as I do under Regional and
Language Options but it seems this identical data is needed in 2 locations?
Adding insult to injury, when I try to select "OK" or "Cancel", I get an
error saying I must enter a country and takes me right back to the Location
Information window. At this point I must open the Task Manager and kill
Outlook.
Any ideas?
