I have lost the ability to restore or get the task manager.

I have run nortons and avg can not find a virus where else do I look. I went
to regedit to the disable tsk manager and it is not even there. Ideas
Please.
 
What happens when you enter taskmgr.exe in the run box and hit OK. Any kind
of error message and if so what?? -- Steve
 
it is enabled now I used this(xp_taskmgrenab.exe)
Many of my links are very slow still. Like pay Pal and Ebay. I am worried
because I have my bank online also. I have run Notrons and a malicious
program from Micros soft. It still is not right.
 
Make sure that your Norton is current with virus definitions before you do a
scan and also do it in Safe Mode. It is also possible you have a spyware
problem and would need a separate program to check for that. AdAware SE is
free for personal use. Try it and be sure to update it's definitions [it
should ask you at install] and also use Safe Mode. The links below may be of

when i typed in taskmgr.exe in my run box i got the error message of "
Another program is using this file" and i dont know how to fix this problem.
I have not been able to access my taskmanager in 3 days. any help would be
appreciated.
