Could someone please tell me how i can restore my start
menu to its original setting. I dont know what i have
done but i can no longer get the run facility etc on my
computer. I think i may have deleted it when i installed
tweak-xp, which i have now removed from my computer.

I am running windows xp after upgrading from windows98, i
still have the upgrade disk.

Click on Start, right click within the Start Menu to select Properties,
Start Menu tab Properties then Advanced tab, then finally scroll down to
the Run command checkbox. If already checked, try clearing it/OK then
re-ticking afterwards.

Hi Robin,

Other than the obvious, this also happens when you have more than
14 items listed in the blue area (right hand side). If this is the case,
remove a couple of them that you don't use and Run will reappear.

If this is not the case:

This can happen from having too many items listed on the Start Menu. The
run command is the first to go. If this is not the case, nor that Run isn't
chosen under Customize:

Restore the Run Command (Line 57)

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.
