I have a Geforce FX 5200 and don't get Aero either, I suspect its either
some issues with the nVidia WDDM drivers or a specific cut off point for
cards that should support AERO. Although, my card has supported AERO on all
previous builds prior to 5744.
Which build and platform are you using by the way? I am experiencing this on
build 5744, x64.
You could, try updating your Performance Score and see if it comes back.
Click Start > right click Computer > under Windows Experience Index, click
Update Score > accept UAC message.
Or try forcing Glass:
By Nero:
1/ Ensure that you have the following registry value set to :
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM\Composition set to 1 (32-bit DWORD)
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM\CompositionPolicy set to 2 (32-bit
DWORD)
2/ Restart DWM by opening a command prompt with administrative privileges :
- Type 'net stop uxsms'
- Then 'net start uxsms'
(to get Aero Glass in vista)
