I am running Windows XP Professional and Microsoft Office Professional 2003
on a Dell 8300. My problem is that both my wife and I have administrator
rights, but when I go to Tools -> Internet Optons in the IE browser I get a
restriction warning saying I have to contact the administrator. My wife does
not.

I contacted Dell and they said I could create a new user account but I may
not be able to copy my favorites list over to the new user account.

They also said the reason might be a corrupted file! I would rather not
create a new user -- What can I do? Is there a utility to fix corrupted
files?

First I would remove your account from the admin group and log off. Then log
on under your wife's account and add your account back to the admin group.
Log on under your account and see if that fixed the problem.

If that doesn't work I would create a new account and add it to the Admin
Group. Log in under that new account and you should be able to copy your old
profile. Don't delete the old account until you are sure that you have
everything copied. This is also a good test that your new account has admin
rights because if it doesn't, you can't get to your old profile. As long as
you leave your old username untouched, there isn't any danger in loosing
files or settings.

Good luck

Thanks for the help. I will try your suggestion and let you know if it works!
Gratefully,
