I recently rebooted the computer, meaning deleted
everything and started fresh. However, even though I
have a sound card, when I try to play music, it gives me
this:

There is no sound card
You either do not have a sound card installed on your
computer or it is not functioning properly. If you do not
have a sound card installed, you must install one before
you can listen to audio in a digital media file. If you
do have a sound card installed, refer to its
documentation to troubleshoot the problem.

please help me. I need music.

Hi;

Taken litterally: NO sound card was found.
Most likely...

If integrated on motherboard: is it activated in the Bios?

If NOT integrated: Try reseating it in its slot as it may have lost its
contacts in/with the PCI slot after being nudged somehow.

Both : Drivers will still need be installled.

it could be that the card is not installed chk device
manager and see if the card is installed or needs drivers
