I have a program that keeps trying to dial out

I shut down all non-Microsoft services and all that was under start up tab. I continue to have the problem. So, I booted up under safe mode and wrote down each service that was not running because under safe mode I no longer had the problem. Then I moved it up safe boot network then safe boot dsrepair. Each time marking out services that was not running. I continue to have no problem under safe boot. So then I started under normal conditions and found that I continue to have the problem. I went through my checklist and found one service that was not on during safe boot. It was Remote Access Auto Connection Manager. I suppose I should be happy I no longer have the problem. But I have no idea what this service does or why it is trying to dial out constantly. Can any one shed some light on this?

Not likely the culprit, just the messenger.^_^

Suspect Real Audio, Windows Updates --- any program that wants to connect
to the Net. A firewall might pin it down. Normally, this behavior can be
tamed within the program's configuration itself.

Also try selective disabling under START|RUN "msconfig" | Start Up tab.
