A user got this error message when trying to log in.
The system has attempted to load or restore a file into
the registry, but the specified file is not in a registry
file format.
I had a Windows 2000 Pro computer that was getting this
message when a certain user was trying to log into it. Any
other user could log into it without a problem. I found
the computer was using the profile "temp" to log this user
in. The profile was corrupt. I removed the temp profile.
The user was able to login without the error.
