How do i clear out the file loading so they only boot up when i need them

Open each program and turn off the option to start when the computer starts
up.

C>Documents and Settings>All Users>Start Menu>Programs>Startup. Open
Startup folder, remove unwanted shortcuts. Be sure to open Properties for
each and note the "target", the location of the unwanted item if needed
later, before deleting. Shortcuts do not affect performance, only access.

Note: There is a Start Menu folder in Owner (or whatever name you have for
it). So look there to see if items are in it (I have none.). Second note:
If this fails, go with Frank's suggestions.

In most cases, with "well-mannered" applications, it's usually as
simple as opening the undesired program and deselecting the option to
"display icon in the system tray" or to "start when Windows starts."

Additionally, Look in the C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Start Menu\Programs\Start Up and C:\Documents and
Settings\username\Start Menu\Programs\Start Up folders, and in the
system registry, primarily in the
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run keys.

okay..... the best way is to do this...
go to start>>>>run
then type in "msconfig"
go over to the "startup" tab...
take out any programs u dont want to start up automatically...
then go to "services" and take out any services u dont want.. but dont
take out any from microsoft... cuz they might be important

hope this helps...
