I have 2 columns and they are both for their own column i want to.

i want to add up the 1st column and i cant' get it added i have tryed all the
ways it has told me to what could i be doing wrong
 
Are you working in Access, the database product?

Are you trying to make it work like Excel, where you can enter the sum at
the bottom of a column?
Access tables don't work like that, but you can make a form, and show
the sum in its footer if you like...
