I'm running an access 97 app that has run well for the
last 3 years. my box has been running win 2k for some time
too. No problems. my box is a p3 600 mghrtz nothing fancy
compaq machine. well, when i finally get a new box that's
a 2.8 ghrtz with 1 meg or RAM with nothing on it except
win 2k and office 97 (hard drive = 40 gig), I get fatal
errors on some of my queries, not all of them, just one of
them. Trust me when I say there's nothing wrong with the
qry itself...i've compacted, repaired, rewritten it.

Here's the question...
Has anyone had problems with access 97 and win 2k? or
Has anyone had problems with access 97 and faster machines?

gracias,
Darren

Dear Darren:

It might be of some help if you'd tell us just what the error says.

However, there is a leading cause of this problem: references.

References are a way you set up a computer so it can find things
(usually functions) that are stored in libraries on your computer.
There is a menu item for References under "Tools" when you open a code
module or the code for a form. Otherwise, it isn't there.

Finding broken references and fixing references is described on the
online help. There is a button on the references dialog to access
this. I suggest you study that and come back after you have checked
for missing references and learned about using references, then come
back here if you need more help.
