Hello, I have a really bizarre behavior in XP, i really didn't think it would
be possible

when i try to log in to the computer i get logged in as the wrong user - the
"SYSTEM" / Local System account. I have tried logging in using a local
computer account as well as a domain account but the same behaviour.

ANY help would be appreciated resolving this issue.

Open a command prompt and type "exit". Restart windows. You should try to
avoid changing any files, since you can introduce a logical exception (Int
0, the 'unmaskable' interrupt, that causes a restart 'on error') It could
corrupt your system. The system is always doing things 'Now', by definition.
I'm not saying it's 'evil' or whatever you want to call it, but there is
nothing the system account can do that the admin can't, except _accidently_
cause damage. The admin can do it on purpose, anytime.
You are probably seeing a backup or system restore gone bad. If no help, I
would try going back to an earlier system restore.
