I only have one user account for Windows XP Home Edition and I made a
password and do not know it anymore. They Microsoft people have been no
help and I just need to know a way to get to my files. I have all my family
pictures, music and school work on this computer all of which are
irreplacible.

suggest you post your question in an XP newsgroup. this newsgroup is devoted
to questions re MS Access database software.

HI,

I have also got the same nightmare one day. Here is the cure that worked for
me. Restart your PC and upon restart, hold the F8 key on your keyboard, to
start the advance menu, and choose Safe Mode. Chance are you will get the
welcome screen with two account: Admin or the like and your defined account.
Choose admin and you will be able to log on. Click yes on the Safe Mode
warning dialog box. Once in Windows, go to Control Panel, and click or
double click the User Accounts Tool, then click on your user account, you
should see among the option, one for removing the password, click on it.
close the control panel and reboot. You're done.

Good luck
