I forgot my password and cant log on under my account name

I was the wise guy that said i wont forget !! and now i cant log on as the
administrator with priveleges
and i am the only one with those settings-- how doi fix this???????/ please
help

telus :Windows XP Home:
telus :Reboot, tapping F8 each second.
telus :Select Safe Mode at the menu.
telus :Select Administrator, leave password blank.

The above is one of the ways used to restore from a lost password. Is this for
real ? tapping F8 each second ? I've found tapping it when the screen that
tells you to tap it appears is more than enough to just tap F8 once.

Reason I ask is I've seen this continuous tapping method before... IIRC there's
something like a [variable] 10 second delay built in at boot up specifically
for the interrupts to recognize F8.

Yes, it is for real and it works very well.
It is especially helpful to the inexperienced user who may not tap a key at
the correct time.
Of course only one tap is required, but many have missed that moment of
opportunity and become frustrated because they tapped to soon or to late.
