Hallo!
Thanks for the translation of AFAIK. What language is that? Where do the
native speakers reside? ;-)
Yes, I use alternate keys to generate unicode German characters like β on my
US W2k-system. Were you educated in a German-speaking country? Did you have
to learn the pre-reform alphabet? Is β still called "ess-tzet"? Or does it
have a new name?
But I don’t think I have ever seen “tschuss,†“tschuess, “tschusz, or
“tschűβ†spelled out; I know it only as a verbal salutation, in person or on
the phone. I pronounce it "tschuβ," without the umlaut, but that is probably
due to my broad American drawl. How IS it spelled?
What a wonderful column you found! Unfortunately, the info about subscript
applies to Excel. And the OL info does not relate to subscripts. But do
want to go back a read more of it later.
You like challenges, do you? Well then, try this one:
I’m using a Canon BJ i860 Printer Driver 1.73b
It typically prints page one first, so page one is on the bottom of the
stack. Which is fine for a couple of pages. But I'm printing large
documents.
So I set the Page Setup to print in reverse order, so that page one would
print last, and be on the top of the stack. Excellent.
Next print job (no changes, no reboot), it printed in the default order,
with page one on the bottom.
The Printer Driver and I have been quarreling about this issue for about 20
print jobs now. I set it, and it abandons the setting. I reset it, and…
I even created a new Profile, with Reverse Order set. That was also good
for only one
print job. And then it abandoned my new Profile, and reverted to "Current
Profile" which does not have it set.
Do I have to change the default? How?
Vielen Glűck!
