My computer freezes up when I try to use Internet Explorer. I have to use
restart to get out of it.
I ran RegSvr32 Mshtml.dll and received this message: Was loaded, but the
dll register server entry point was not found. This file cannot be
registered.
I also ran RegSvr32 Browseul.dll and message was: Load Library failed. The
specified module could not be found.

I have no idea how to fix these. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Run a thorough check for hijackware.

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.

IE version?
Windows version?

A. Does this behavior persist if you start IE7 in No Add-ons mode?

To start IE7 in No Add-ons mode:

1. Right-click on the blue IE desktop icon and select Start without Add-ons;

2. Start > (All) Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer
(No add-ons).

B. If you uninstall IE7 (which automatically returns you to IE6), does this
behavior persist?

I.E. 7 and Windows XP

I know of two causes for the vast majority of such problems:
1. Incompatible add-ons: What if you right click the IE icon on the desktop
and choose Start Without Add-ons?
Or go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Internet
Explorer (No Add-ons).

2. Malware already installed on the computer: Help with malware

Unexplained computer behavior may be caused by deceptive software.

So How Did I Get Infected Anyway?
For quite a few people it's by installing Messenger Plus, whose ads for
malware don't identify the malware as such and try to convince you that you
owe it to the author. See also:

Don't ever do a "default" install of anything. Always choose Custom and see
what else is being carried along. Don't install any extras you're not sure
of.

If you have to use a hardware restart to get out of your "freeze"
then the problem is not caused by IE7. An incompatible driver
(perhaps when used by IE) would be more likely to be responsible.

I ran RegSvr32 Mshtml.dll and received this message: Was loaded, but the
dll register server entry point was not found. This file cannot be
registered.
I also ran RegSvr32 Browseul.dll and message was: Load Library failed. The
specified module could not be found.

(FYI) The second one was a typo for browseui.dll but
apparently these regsvr32 commands are no longer as useful
with IE7 as they once were under earlier versions of IE.
Try using the Reset... command instead

but be aware that you would be losing some previously saved data,
in particular passwords, if you tried it. In that case you could at least
export passwords and other AutoComplete data using NirSoft's PSPV.

I have no idea how to fix these. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think you may have to resort to some clean-boot troubleshooting.

BTW such diagnosis is slightly off-topic for even IE General

Good luck

Have you tried the option to Start IE7 without add-ons?
