I.E. and delpdate\ksupvcno.exe error?

I am using Windows XP and many photo editing apps on my pc (I am
photographer). I have just installed McAfee 7.0 and each time I try to open
explorer I get a warning that this file is trying to access it. The only
options I have are Grant (which will slowly open explorer) or Deny (which
closes explorer). I am even viewing hidden files and can't find this file
anywhere on my pc! The path appears to be c:\program
files\delpdate\ksupvcno.exe. I use a spam blocker and popup blocker. Any
ideas how I can get rid of this? Thanks!

Hi Merrikayo,

A web search and Virus search turned up nothing on this file.

No guarantees can be made though. I would start by disabling Third party
Browser Helpers. To do this go to your Control Panel (Start>Settings>Control
Panel) and select the Internet Options applet. On the Advanced tab you will
find an option to disable BHO's (Browser Helper Objects). Once you have done
this it should allow you to Start IE without also loading that file. You may
then be able to use the Search Assistant to lookup for info about this file.

Also in the Control Panel is the Add/Remove Programs applet. Have you used
this yet to see if it is listed?

Another scenario is that McAfee has already removed and deleted the file
from your computer (hence you can't find it on your drive), but has left an
entry in the registry (or something on windows startup is putting the entry
back in)

You should be able to use the Add-In Manager in IE (Tools>Add-In Manager) to
disable the appropiate entry in your Registry.

This may be the solution. As I use Nortons I am not sure if McAfee has a
tool to remove orphaned COM objects from your registry. You would probably
to well to scan your puter again with McAfee
