Q - After linking to some sites ( via google search, for
example), I will hit my back button and I can get no
further back than the home page of the site I am
visiting. Nothing other than closing my browser seems to
release me from these kinds of sites.

I feel like they hijack my browser and I don't know how
to defeat this type of website trickery.

Is this common, and is there a cure?

Thank you!

George

You can only go back if the new page opens in the same window... if a new
page opens in a new window then that is the start of the "Path" that window
has followed (like a fork in the road) so you cannot go "Back" past the
fork. Is this what you are seeing?

I almost always program my links to open in a new window because the visitor
can then keep his / her starting position.
