I hope someone can help me. I have XP Home Edition. I
think i deleted some important files while i ran scan
disc and after i defragged my hard drive. im not exactly
sure. Anyways, first everytime i restart my computer
my "system32" file comes up. Second, somehow all my
games just deleted themselves and are nowhere to be
found. Third, in the start menu, it tells me that there
are new programs installed. but its the programs that
have been on the computer for a long time they are not
new ones. Is it possible to reinstall windows to get my
games and any deleted files back?

You need to expand on exactly what you did. There is no program
provided by XP called "scan disk" (the program name is "chkdsk".
Neither "chkdsk" or XP's defrag program will delete files or programs in
the way you describe. You did other things. What?

.
before i do anything,, i believe i would run system
restore first.. you'll find it in your accessories under
system tools, ,,restore back to a date you new it last
ran right,, you may have to reinstall some of your games
and stuff,,but your original settings should all come
back,,
i used it before and it worked for me
