Are there any Naturalized US citizens answering on this forum?
On US Shores thats NOT been Outsourced!
I have listed this question for last 2 hours and no response....SQUEEK,
SQUEEK!!!!!

I can't seem to get this macro to work.
I am trying to display this total in a text box on my form.

Macro Name: CELLTOTL
Condition: TRUE
Action Name: SetValue
Arguments: [CELLTOTL], 57.46

Here is the expression in Macro:(All fields are currency)
=[BALANCEADJ]+[MOSERVICE]+[HOMECHARGES]+[ROAMCHARGES]+[OTHERCHARGES]+[NONCOM
MRELATED]+[TAXES]

I have even tried:
=Ccur([BALANCEADJ]+[MOSERVICE]+[HOMECHARGES]+[ROAMCHARGES]+[OTHERCHARGES]+[N
ONCOMMRELATED]+[TAXES])

I still get the same error on each field data entered although the data
posts to the form ok.
Any help I can get is appreacated

TIA
Donny

In the first place, I fail to see what the citizenship status of
participants in the forum has to do with getting an answer to your
question. If you think U.S. citizens have a monopoly on good answers to
technical questions about Access, you are sadly mistaken. In the second
place, "naturalized" doesn't mean what you think it does. In the third
place, 2 hours is not long at all to wait for an answer to a question
posted to a peer-support newsgroup like this one. These newsgroups are
not staffed by Microsoft support personnel; they are staffed, if you
can call it that, by ordinary people who feel like sharing in the
interchange of knowledge. Nobody owes you an answer, and newsgroups
aren't the place to go for quick ones. In the fourth place, your rude
outburst has probably antagonized most of the people who would be
inclined to help you. In the fifth place, your explanation of what you
are trying to accomplish is unclear, and people are much more likely to
attempt to answer questions that are clearly stated. In the sixth
place, why would you use a macro for this? Why not just set your text
box's controlsource to the expression

=[BALANCEADJ]+[MOSERVICE]+[HOMECHARGES]+[ROAMCHARGES]+[OTHERCHARGES]+[NO
NCOMMRELATED]+[TAXES]

If any of those fields may be null, though, you'll need to wrap them in
the Nz() function:

=Nz([BALANCEADJ],
0)+Nz([MOSERVICE],0)+Nz([HOMECHARGES],0)+Nz([ROAMCHARGES],0)+Nz([OTHERCH
ARGES],0)+Nz([NONCOMMRELATED],0)+Nz([TAXES],0)

I am an unemployed US Citizen thats served in Vietnam and benn unemployed by
a company that has moved to Comunist china. Do you really think I Give a
Sh__ if an Non US citizen is offended? DO YOU!
I am sick and tired of you bleeding hearts that feel ofended because a non
citizen is hurt. How about the US soilders being draged through the steets.
How do you feel about that! COME ON KEVIN3NF WAKE UP! or this country wil be
asking India for a hand out.

The answer is quit simple really, but apparently others
are as offended as I was by your post. Responses to posts
are voluntary and done so out of the simple interest in
sharing knowledge and methods.

I'll see to it that my share of the money you paid for your answers is
promptly refunded. Here: []

To answer your query - a Macro is not needed or appropriate. Just put
the expression into the Control Source of your form textbox.

Donny,

SHOUT all you want. And spew drivel all you want. And ask questions

Donny,

What side of the bed did you get up on this morning?

These forums are free. The questions are answered by *unpaid* volunteers all around the globe out of the goodness of their hearts
when they have spare time.

Do you really think your opening comments are a way to get *unpaid* volunteers to help out for free? Frankly I'm surprised anyone
actually offered any help.

And what's with the 2 hours? Lots of messages go unanswered for several days until someone with the appropriate knowledge has the
time to answer.

If you want instant help, there are lots of places you can go. You will, however, have to pay.

Kudos to Dirk and John for offering help.

Kudos to Dirk and John for offering help.

I figure that even impatient, ignorant, bigoted, rude people still
need to get their databases finished. But I did have to think three
times before posting.

Instead of posting angry vitriol, you need to go educate yourself. Go read

For many companies, "outsourcing" is the only way to keep the company alive
in a global economy - and avoid shutting down U.S. operations altogether,
which would result in even more job losses.

I agree with the netiquette post but the other I DO NOT agree with.
A man from the goverment was interviewed yesterday and agreed that the
numbers quoted were not panning out as expected. Ameica is sending companies
and jobs elswhere but the returns are NOT coming back as expected. Someone
screwed up againg at the expense of the tax paying workers of this country.
While the FAT A__ corp owners and goverment people make out. You have fallen
for the "Its Good for America" BS Washington ids feeding you. I just hope
you don't have to stand in line for a handout from Indias workers later.
This country is going to end up as a third rate third world class place
because people like you fall for tha propaganda.

Hi Don,

I think a couple of people have answered your question, this is a lot of
response for a relatively simple question. You've definitely alienated the
good people in this forum, who are volunteers by the way, and labeled them
and offended all of them. I'm a regular user of this forum and joined not
too long ago, but it didnt take me long to discover that this is a global
forum. An international forum. I, myself, am from another country and
currently work in the US. I'm neither a US citizen by birth, nor am I a US
citizen by Naturalization (your understanding of "Naturalized US citizens"
is incorrect, by the way). I actually read your question a few minutes after
you posted and refrained from answering because I was mildly offended.

But as I thought and read more about your posts, I realized that you may
have experienced things that other people have not. And these experiences
have obviously shaped the windows through which you see the world. The way
we see the world is very much a function of our past experiences.

Please spend the time and look around the newsgroup, see the different
people who persistently answer questions. These people are relentless in
solving problems of people they dont even know. You will find that they come
from different parts of the world, from all walks of life but none of these
differences matter. So when you participate in a forum like this, if you can
set aside your values and beliefs, I know for a fact that the good people in
this forum will set aside theirs, and they would have nothing left to do but
*help you with your problems*.

Please have a look:

This forum is about Access and nothing else. So this is going to be first
and last time I´ll ever comment politict here.

I´ll tell you something guy´s! You´r not alone in US beeing forced, by the
world market, outsourcing to 3:d part countries. All europe is doing it and
it´s going very fast. The market , for a short while anyway, is china and
it developes fast.

So don´t cry to much you are more or less forced and so are we and most of
the other industrial countris! That´s NOT internat bull... from some stupid
politics in US. it´s the fact! Sorry but that´s life today and I don´t like
it either but if I´m going to have work tomorrow I have to live with it and
keep on educating med so I´ll be one of them that are skilled enough to have
work the day after tomorrow!

Now, end of politics for me. At least here! ;-)

But as I thought and read more about your posts, I realized that you may
have experienced things that other people have not.

Well spoken.

However these groups contain a *very* large percentage of people who have
experienced loss of jobs and income from change.

DOS 1.0 was easier to use than CP/M and people lost work because they
didn't have to write assembly language code any more to make a printer work.
Every single iteration of every operating system has made it a little harder
to get work because the person can do it themselves or get the amateur in
the next seat to do it.

dBase II ( and there was no dBase I) made database development easier.

It will continue.
