For some reason all of the sudden when I go to play a video file only the
program box appears on the taskbar and only the audio plays. When I try to
get video it only shows me a small screen at the top of the taskbar. I cant
seem to get the actual wmp program to run fully. I also cannot find it
anywhere in the add remove section so I cant uninstall/install. Any clues?
Sugg.?

You wont find the core WMP in main add/remove,its located in windows
components.Try opening WMP,tools, options, select "connect to the internet"
you might also edit the other tabs. You cant really uninstall WMP from windows
components either, unchecking the box simply disables its services, usually if
another 3rd party player is installed. However, download WMP from microsoft,
v9 or greater, once the file opens,it will uninstall the current WMP before it
installs if same version,if upgraded,it simply upgrades components.....

You are missing the necessary codec's required to play that type of video
file. Did it ever work before? Did you do a reinstall of the operating
system? Did anyone else?

The codec's are part of a "for purchase" video player application. Even
then, you may need special ones for different files, such as "Quick Time".

You have apparently minimized WMP to the taskbar. Click
restore from the taskbar. Two little offset squares bottom right.
