I have a client who recently upgraded to SBS 2003. After the upgrade,
because it was thought to be the correct proceedure, Veritas 8.6 was
installed. Ever since that was installed, it gets stop errors and the backup
(the built in backup for SBS) software works about 73% of the time. Veritas
was removed, but we are always seeing errors dealing with ntbackup. Again,
we have uninstalled the backup software from Veritas, but now the built in
software fails. I would like to know if there is a way to uninstall and
reinstall the backup software built into SBS. Also, is there a method to
remove all instances in the registry (or where ever else I would need to) of
the Veritas software.

To sum up, I am wanting to repair the backup portion of SBS 2003.

Thank you,
Doug Jones

Doug,

I don't know of a way to uninstall NT Backup from within Windows 2003. It is possible SBS 2003 may have away. You may
want to post your question to the newsgroup microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs.

Well I can't. That group isn't listed on my news server. Could you forward
this to anyone you know at Microsoft?
