Hi Sam,
You see Admin on the Change Logon Password tab because you are logged on as
the Admin account.
Give the Admin account a password (remember the password). Close Microsoft
Access and then reopen it. You will be prompted for User Name and
Password. Enter the correct User Name and Password.
If you don't remember the User Name and Password log back in as the Admin
account.
Select the menu option Tools > Security > User and Group Accounts
From the drop down select the User account and click Clear Password.
NOTE: in order to be prompted for User Name and Password the Admin account
must have a password. If not, every logs into the database as the Admin
account.
I hope this helps! If you have additional questions on this topic, please
respond back to this posting.
Regards,
Eric Butts

| Hello,
|
| I followed the instructions exactly on how to create a
| security administrator account (following Access 97
| help). For some reason, I can't seem to log in as that
| user even after I have created a unique password.
|
| The Access Security FAQ's page suggests that I should type
| in the user name in the opening dialog box without the
| password. That didn't work.
|
| One strange thing I find, after I have created the user
| name, when I click on the "Change Logon Password" tab, the
| user name says "admin". If I click back on the "Users"
| tab, the name I have as the new account is highlighted.
| Is there a problem here?
|
| A response would be much appreciated.
|
| Sam
