Hello:

I continue to receive this error message: 0x800CCCOE whenever I try to send
emails in windows mail.

My setting for windows mail:

Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com

Protocol: SMTP, Port 25
Secure (SSL) Yes

Socket Error: 10013

Error Number: 0x800CCCOE

Why Do I continue to receive this error message: 0x800CCCOE whenever I try
to send emails in windows mail?

Post the complete (verbatim) error message.

Have you ever been able to Send using your current settings?

Are you a Yahoo Plus subscriber?
 
Yahoo hasn't used that server for several years. What type of Yahoo
account do you have, free, premium (Mail Plus), or partnered through
your ISP?
 
The error number is 0x800CCC0E (with no letter "O"), not 0x800CCCOE with a
letter "O".

See "Exchange Server client receives an error message when it tries to send
or receive e-mail: "Socket error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800ccc0e"" at:

Note that it says "Exchange Server client". If Yahoo uses Exchange Server as
the server then your Windows Mail would be an Exchange Server client.

Fortunately you have experts such as Gary and PA Bear to help you and you
can just use their assistance.

I have never been able to send emails using Windows Mail.

The error message that I continue to receive as I try to send emails using
Windows Mail is:

error message: 0x800CCCOE

I use the free email for my yahoo email accounts.

US-based free Yahoo accounts have webmail access only, no POP
access. Windows Mail handles POP mail but not Yahoo webmail.
Yahoo's solution is to pay them for premium "Mail Plus" service:

and use the special settings for that service:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/pop/pop-14.html

If you are OK with using a non-Yahoo email address, you have these other
solutions that will work with Windows Mail:
* Use the email address assigned to you by your ISP.
* Use a free Gmail, AOL, or Hotmail/Live account.

You can also continue to use Yahoo's webmail: http://mail.yahoo.com
