Hello. I have a graphical card ATI 9250 AGP, it(he,she) does not admit
windows sight. I have the system installed but not this one the interface
Aero. On having changed the graphical card that it is necessary to do in
order that one sees the interface? Or does it work out alone?

Thank you

Fernando,

If you're asking what graphics card it takes to see Aero interface, Windows
Vista requires a minimum of an NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 and later, an ATI
Radeon 9500 and later, an Intel's GMA 950 integrated graphics, and a handful
of VIA chipsets and S3 Graphics discrete chips are supported. Microsoft has
a tool called the Windows Vista Upgrade Adviser to assist users in
determining what versions of Windows their machine is capable of running.

However, keep in mind that a video card meeting the minimum requirements
will only provide a minimum Areo look. To get all the full Areo features,
you need a video card higher than the minimum. Even so, your 9250 should
work well with the "regular" (non Areo) features.

Fernando,
Also for Aero your graphics card has to have 128MB or more memory.
ATI does not provide and Vista drivers for 91xx or 92xxx cards since the
cards do not support DX9 or Shading model 2.

Hi!

I would like to take advantage of Fernando's request for help and ask for
help for myself. I have an Nvidia GeForce Go 6150 card that came as OEM with
my HP tx1000z CTO. The memory is "virtual" and is 128mb. However, Aero has
never worked properly, ever! I am guessing that I need a card with
"physical" memory. Am I right? If yes, which card do you recommend? If no,
what is the problem? Why is the OEM card not working as expected?

With anticipated gratitude,

Some shared memory chips/cards work with Aero no physical memory.
And others cards must have at least 64MB of physical memory. Also with a
shared memory chip/card you need more the 512MB of main memory to support
Aero.
