Hello,
I have switched from using Outlook Express to Outlook XP. I cannot view
attachments I am using Office XP professional and I am not connecting to a
work server. I tried options that the help menu said but I am not having any
success. What do I do? Apart from using Outlook Express or Outlook 2000

Vince, Thank you for responding so quickly!! :)

I am sorry for being a space cadet but I can't seem to find a solution I get
a message that Outlook has blocked access to the following potentially unsafe
attachments (in this case index.url). So I really don't understand what I
should be doing. What do you mean do I read the attachment inside the mail
item if you mean do I open the mail item then try to open the attachment then
yes and I get the above message but I also can't open the attachment when I
try to save or open it without opening the E-Mail itself.

Again thank you for your reply.

I have changed the registry path to: My
Computer\HKEY_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0 to: My
computer\HKEY_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0 and hae added the
string value Level1Add in the path ...Outlook\ with the value .url
I rebooted and it still doesn't work what have I done wrong?

Again thank you for your quick repsonses.

You mentioned that you were using Outlook XP which is Outlook 2002 which
should be version 10.0 not 9.0

Again thank you.
I guess I misunderstood when the site talked about renaming the file. Did I
do anything else that is incorrect I am very nearly at the point of going
back to using Outlook Express I really just wanted to use Outlook as it has
all the features (apart from this problem that I am having) that I would like
to use i.e. calendar etc.

I do really appreciate your assistance I have not quite given up yet though

Well I tried again and it is now working THANK YOU SOOO MUCH for putting up
with me. I said below that I used Level1Add well I had also entered a value
of LEvel 1Remove so again I went in and undid what I had done and started
over this time not using the Level1Add so I am glad I did not give up and
that you kept responding.
