i cant start up my computer with the regular resoultion

i cant start up my computer with the regular resoultio
when i start up my computer, it opens up in a funny color. I checked the display properties and its at 4 bits. (color quality). I was wondering if any of you are able to help me
also, isnt there a start up button somewhere on the top of the keybord that may let me choose which setting i want to start my computer on, such as... safe mod, normal, and others as well. its F5 or something, if you know, can you tell me

Hi,

Try press F8 key to enter safe mode and login in with networking connection.
The lowest display color in VGA mode should be 16 bit.
I would suggest you to have an on-line security check with symantec.com
If no virus found, run anti-spywares softwares, e.g. Ad-aware 6.0 from lavasoftusa.com (update the definitions after installed before running the softwares, perform a full syatem scan)
If still no avail, try download the latest XP compatible display drivers from the display card/PC manufacturer's website.

hi nick...maybe you should check your monitor connection cable...if it´s not in properly thats what you get..a funny colours on your screen.i have mine once not connected properly..the pin wasnt all in....maybe this will help you i hope.
