Boston - Esat

If 2 days works perfectly, next day gives me errors.. I can't rely on this. I
use it for business e-mail.
Someone help please asap.

This is the error:

Account: 'mail.skyboston.com', Server: 'mail.skyboston.com', Protocol:
POP3, Server Response: '.', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number:
0x800CCC18

Go to Tools, Accounts, select that mail account, Properties, Servers.
Make sure that "Log on using Secure Password Authentication" is not enabled.

Hi Gary,
I did that but still does not work..What seems to be wrong, i don't know. I
us this for my work and it is not reliable. What would be the problem? y
server? Host?

Since we've eliminated one possible cause, let's try a different possibility.
Which antivirus are you running? Some of them cause problems with
Windows Mail over time. As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus
should be turned off, although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all
bad effects. In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be
uninstalled/reinstalled or replaced.

Email scanning in any antivirus should be disabled, for reasons
explained here:
http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htm

As a possible temporary fix, delete that corrupted mail account,
restart Windows Mail, then recreate the account.

If still no improvement, consider upgrading to Windows Live Mail,
because it is less prone to suffering bad effects from overly intrusive
antivirus programs: http://download.live.com/wlmail

thank you ver much. I swithced th live mail. Problem continues. I don't use
any antivirus software.. I don't know what to do..

You are running your computer without any antivirus software?
Except for brief tests, that's not good. You can get a very capable
free antivirus program here:
http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

Have you contacted your mail service provider (skyboston.com) for help?
The problem could well be on their end. Are you able to access that
account via webmail (using Internet Explorer)?
