I have a windows 2000 server that I can't connect to using its hostname. I
can get to it via its IP address. I have resorted to resolving it in the
windows host file. This used to work. I was trying to get the RAS to work
and I changed something that caused this to happen. I retraced my steps and
I still can't get it to work.

If there is any info that I need to supply, I would be glad to do it. I am
not sure what is needed. I have been sorting through the newsgroup and have
not found anything that quite fits my issue.

Assuming all computers are running windows 2000/xp/2003, I woud check the DNS settings. Otherwise, check the WINS server or NetBIOS over TCP/IP.

Don't send e-mail or reply to me except you need consulting services. Posting on MS newsgroup will benefit all readers and you may get more help.

I recommend Brinkster for web hosting!
